I have been looking at wheel options for a while now... I have been lusting after some of the late model 911/996/993 wheels, and was wondering if anyone else is doing this...? I have a GT flared car, and the wheels I was looking at are considered 18X10's for the rears... Am I looking at too much wheel?
Let me know what you think - and pics are plus...

Thanks

Jeff Hays is running 18" K rims with stock GT flares. I am running 17x 9 front and 17x 10 rear K rims on my car. A picture of Jeff's car is attached.

I have 18 x 11's Techno's mounted in the rear and flares fabricated to them but my car is not running yet so I can't give you any dynamic experiences...

My car has very stiff suspension so travel clearances won't be a problem but ride is another story.

I will run 18 x 8's in the front and flares fitted as well.

What's the outside Dia. of the tires for those rims?
I was talking with Ralph Knoll (so cal) on the phone
and he wants to install 18s if they will work.

Not far from stock: 295/30ZR 18 = 25"

Thanks.
Ralph was wondering if he could fit 315s,
and if I could make up a set of my rear flares for his car to fit them.
It would be the first time I tried to do the flares without the car. unsure.gif

Guys,
Thanks for the reposes...
xitspd, Do you have any more pics of Jeff's or your car? Are there clearance issues?
My car is a street car, so I'm am a little concerned about that.....

Also, has anyone found any decent deals from retailers on wheels for our cars? It seems that if you buy wheels with a Porsche bolt pattern, you get to pay a "double premium".... bs.gif

Sorry, this is the only picture I have of my new car with 17" rims. I will take another picture of it next week on the ground. I am running 400 LB rear springs, not much movement during turns. Contact Joe Obrien (914RS), he put 17" Porsche factory rims on his car. I am sure he can explain the spacing issues.

Attached find a picture of the RS with powder coated factory wheels!
