Hi everybody.
I need a information.
have a 1973 Porsche 914 2.0. Instead of fixing the headlight compartment, I decided to replace it, and I bought another one for the same year, now, after preparing to weld the new, I noticed that its bigger than the old one, and the old one has a curve on the bottom part, outside, and the new one does not. Even the depth is greater than the old one.
The headlight bucket that I bought is probably 1/4 inch deeper than the one that I have.
So, is there this different headlight compartment for the same year?

Thanks

My understanding is there are early and late headlight buckets - my Six had one of each after a poor repair job back in the 80's. I believe the early headlight buckets are deeper and the later, to accommodate the crash bumper cars, '75-'76, were not as deep to allow for the bumper shock. Of course I could be wrong, but that was what I was told.

Additionally, there is no '73 Six unless it is a conversion.
