...he gave to my 73 teener as the original owner. As I see the loving rustorations often encountered here on World, I more fully appreciate the legacy that this original car embodies. It now has 58K miles, and I drive her regularly, dry weather permitting! I'm currently in process of installing SS fuel lines, and while the fuel tank is out being cleaned and sealed is the perfect time to add a front sway bar. biggrin.gif I salute y'all that have been inspirations to others with your rustorations, and certainly appreciate the resource that this site provides.

For those of you that haven't seen Jamie's car, it is a time-capsule. As I recall, his father was an engineer, and he used an old Dymo labeler to label all of the fluid specifications. You can see that in the above photo on the brake reservoir and the windshield washer tank. Thanks for the update, Jamie!

Wow! Fantastic cars. Definitely can appreciate the care the previous owners bestowed.

Trying to discern the color on Jamie's car. Is that Delphi Green? I had a 74-2.0 that was originally Delphi Green but had been repainted red before I owned it. (the original owner moved to Hawaii for two years and needed to have a red sports car while he was there. As he described it, "that's what color Magnum's car was so that's what I needed too") Always wanted to repaint the car back to its original color.

More pictures of both cars please!

What kind of brake fluid bottle is it on the blue car? I've never seen one like that on a 914 Before?

Beautiful cars!!! Also love seeing ones that the previous owners have taken such amazing care of.

Brake fluid reservoir cover: I believe that is a cover; not a completely different type of reservoir? Seem to recall that some cars came with that? Is that a "74?

Yes on the Delphi Green(L99A), but Mom called it "urine yellow" because Dad bought the car without informing her first! confused24.gif

My second 914 was originally Delphi Green that had been repainted to red when we bought it. I thought the Delphi was about the ugliest color I had seen and called it Piss Green. But I was only seeing the little bits that shown through the peeling paint of the crappy respray in the trunks. When I saw a full car with good Delphi paint, I saw the light and now I think it is gorgeous. Beautiful car! aktion035.gif

I have grown to like the color because other drivers can more easily see the little car on the road! I just couldn't believe my conservative Dad was willing to pay the extra $209 for a "custom color" on the original door sticker, but he replied that was the only 914 the dealer in Dayton OH had at the time.

Just a cover - I have one on my '74. They are NLA I believe.

I don't think they were a Porsche part. Aftermarket? I have one on my car.

Have one on my 70 -6 as well. I thought that they were original, but typically go missing.
