Full Version: Unhooking Parking Brake Cables from Caliper Arm

Taking my rear calipers off for a rebuilt or PMB swap. The clips came off the pins that hold the clevis on to the parking brake arm on the caliper okay but the pin itself is rusted in the clevis and I can't drive it out. What's the easiest way to gain enough slack in the cable to simply pull the clevis off the parking brake arm?

Thanks for your thoughts, observations or suggestions.

Mine was rusted up tight. I hit it with the torch until red hot then touched on old wax candle to it before it cooled. Loosened right up.

Wax is better than penetrating oil. Doesnt evaporate on contact with the hot part and no toxic fumes.
