Hi guys.... we still here (Puerto Rico) in surviving mode.. but doing better! This hurricane was the worst ever I have experienced!!!! But my family and me are OK, and by OK I mean alive and surviving.

Since things are getting better I decide to get my car from my sister’s house which I was using as shelter for the teener.

Long story short… I got stranded by a fail fuel pump (Chinese crap). I used to have this pump in the front trunk but was very near to the radiator (this is an EG33 Subaru swap) and temperatures should have been the issue.

I just bought and AEM inline fuel pump and relocate it behind driver side firewall in the lowest point I could. I have never used one of these pumps before but never imagined that it would be this noisy. I have no rubber isolators on the pump and this might help.

I’m not inclined to relocate the pump under the steering rack. I know this has been discussed before and there are people that have no problems running the pump in the rear of the car.

Just would like to know if these pump are this noisy or I may have some leaks or something like that.

The car start, idles and runs good….let me say…better that the previous pump.

I will appreciate your recommendations and inputs on this matter.

Does sound a bit loud. This is with direct mounting to the firewall? Maybe try some rubber around the pump to chassis. I used some rubber connectors from Home Depot for connecting PVC pipes to each other.

I'd add rubber isolators and possibly some rubber/tar type mat on the wall as well right behind it.

Rubber lines or hard lines?

I'm running SS braided lines. Today I let the pump hang loose just to test how much noise it makes and it was a great difference. I put some insulation tape between the pump and firewall and it did some improvement, but definitely need rubber isolators.

Glad to see your okay. I have been to PR dozens of times in the last 50 years (I have family there, all over) and had yet to see a 914 on the island. Porsches in general are not very common, let alone one over 40 years old. Glad to see you are keeping one going there. The roads and weather are brutal on cars.
