I'm looking for the plastic "whiskers" that seal or clean the actuating arm on the headlamps. In the attached picture, I have removed the headlamp.

I looked in the PET and could not find them in the exploded view for the headlamp assembly (page 298).

What are these called and where can I buy them?

Mark said 914rubber will make them soon.

Just finishing the forming, I can get you a set in a few days. Along with the pivit bushings for the headlight assembly and the rotating metal arm.

Upper fronts are done I'm very happy with this. The poly graphite is very solid and I used a press to mechanically wedge these in on the metal. Could be done on a bench vise easily too. We are trying to finish up a custom tool for the A arm bushing install and we have made the new rubber version of them that are correct (NOT A URO PART) and the tool will make the job easier.
So we have those 2 parts and have just finished the trailing arm poly bronze bushings as well as the arm support arm tubes in solid stainless. I'll post up some more car porn later.

What years had the fuzzies? I have had many 914s and I don't recall ever seeing them.
I just replaced all the bushings on the project car with All Thread and some plumbing parts. Did not take long. Having the part that presses on the bushing would save some time in the plumbing isle at the hardware store.

70 & 71 had fuzzy’s. I’m not sure about 72.

I have a 72. I'm pretty sure it does not have fuzzy's.

Matt's 72 had them. That's where we got the idea. So the cut off is somewhere in there.

My '72 has them and an additional rubber flap that goes in front of the horse hair.
My chassis is I think April build.
I know that '73 have the rubber cup that encloses the headlight motor pivot, kinda looks like an old time horn.

I just checked, and I stand corrected. I DO have the fuzzy's. November '71 build...

Noticed that when we bent these up we made slightly too narrow. Going to have to cut more up and take another wack at it. The die we made to bend them took metal from the width and added to the brush height..... doooooo

All 914s have these headlight brush strips --- 2 per car. Part number is 914.750.079.10. Best bet is 914rubber or used. Bob Heinonen

My "73 doesn't have them. It has really fat rectangular grommets. It's 99 % stock with only 48 K miles. Whatever.

Sorry Bob not true. 70 through early / mid 72 have them. After that they are rubber grommets.

Somewhere in late 72 or early 73 the switched to the rubber cover that went through the hole. My question is when did the metal bar become the plastic one? I was pretty sure it was post 73 maybe late 74?

My '72 has them. I tried to "refresh" them and painted the metal. They still work, but they don't look as new as the rest of the car.

75-76 me thinks.

From there onward, for the rubber boot.
