Hey all,
I just purchased a 914-4 2.0 and am looking to slip on new tires.

It was running on old Kumo 205/50/15... I'm now looking at the same size in the Toyo Proxy R1R or R888R. I'll drive 95% on the street but some AX.
Anyone have pros or cons on the Toyos or suggestions on something else.

Any info would be much appreciated...

thanks,
Mitch

For the street I prefer tires that are close to stock height. Personally I find smaller diameter tires look goofy.
I'm running 205/60-15

I don't care for 50 series tires on the street/interstate. Cat becomes a buzz box at speed with the increased rpm.

I run 195/65-15 Michelin Exaltos on my 914-6. Very close diameter to the original 185/75-14s it came with.Click to view attachment

Since I'm building mine to be a daily driver, I'm going with 195/65 15 Pirelli P4's

Middle of the road performance / comfort tire that has a decent tread wear rating.

I run PZero's on one of my other cars and really like they way they have worked out.

Smaller profile just looks wrong, 205/60's look just right rolleyes.gif

P195/65R15. Looks good and keeps the speedo accurate.

a 205/60 would be stock diameter, but not too much in the way of sticky tires.
205/50 plenty of sticky tires if you don't mind higher cruising rpms

I think both those toyos are near racing slicks? Might be too much for the street. Plus autox used to have a 200 tread wear minimum, worth looking up first.

195-50-15's on one set of wheels and 195-55 on another, what I'll run on the third set is still undecided.... biggrin.gif
