My car was auto crossed most of its life and was slammed to the ground. I had issues with fender rub on the front. Raised the front 2" and the back 1.5" new Bilteins and springs (Thanks Glenn) in the back and adjustable Elephant drop links in the front. Pretty happy with the results. First picture is the old ride height last two are new ride height.

Looks great, I personally like a closer to stock ride height.
Relate note: my brother recently had his 930 raised up to close to stock ride height and it rides much better!

The Porsche engineers had it right for daily drivers?

Raising it up does give a lot of benefits from a drivability standpoint for everyday driving. Suspension can get more travel, eliminate bump steer, can use more stock sized tires without rubbing issues, and an overall more comfortable ride.
But man, they do look great lowered.

Also, now is the time to get a 4 wheel alignment from a qualified shop that knows how to work on old Porsches.

Wheels are 914-6 stock 14" x 5.5" Fuchs, not much choice on tires, they are Goodyear Assurance 195/70R/14

You can lower a 914 and keep the travel if done correctly
With out going through all the steps a proper set 914 is a joy.
And well Mike your car is
no matter what height it is set at.

Looks great, you will drive it more often.
I used to raise and lower mine just for auto events.
I setup my own alignment rig.
The stock ride height is better when you want to use the car

Mike,
Great looking Six..Are you happy with the Goodyear's? Finding 14's are hard.. Funny thing I just put that same kind of tire on my Camary and never thought about putting them on my Six..
Thanks,914/Alan
