Hi Guys,

When I plugged my new alternator harness into the back of the alt I felt a little crunchiness. I removed the plug and saw pieces of a thin (brittle) plastic thing that looks like it belongs around the plug spade terminals. I don't see the part listed anywhere. The plug seems to seat fine, but I have a healthy respect for the alternator's ability to short and start fires...so best to not assume.

Anyone know what that little piece is? And if it's needed? Wish I could post a pic, but it's in a dozen shards. Seems to be about 1/8" thick and was the same shape as the plug.

Thanks!

Interested to see what it might be? Sounds like the base the connectors attach to?

Looks to be more like a "spacer" between the base and the plug.

It may be able to be repaired with epoxy? As long as you can control where the epoxy goes.
