Have been having grounding problems and this is one of many likely culprits. When I tried to loosen nut that attaches negative lead from battery to chassis, the threaded stud fell off. Options?

Weld or bolt another one one...

What does the side of the engine compartment look like there? Is it nice and rusty? Did it fall off or did the area around it rust out? Clean it up. Patch it if you have to. And then weld or bolt in your ground bolt.

Immediate area is rust free, though I do have modest hell hole below. Corrosion and metal fatigue might be worse.

I bet we can get the remaining stud out or grind it flush then install a new one. One thing I didn't think of was looking at the back side of it (from the wheel well). This could be pretty easy.

PS don't go kicking anymore body parts. I'd rather struggle with the mechanical stuff than source body items.
