Full Version: CV joint bolts socket size?
I'm confused as to what size the CV joint bolts are... there are 4 of them, originally thought it was a 6mm Allenkey, but I'm confused now. The bolts we so dirty I couldn't tell if it had 6 points or 12 points. Anyone know?
Stock is M8 triple square.
They sometimes get replaced by standard Allen-head bolts. Clean them to check.
DO NOT USE AN ALLEN WRENCH ON TRIPLE-SQUARE BOLTS! You'll strip them in about 2 nanoseconds. Get the right tool; VW Bug shops carry it as do Porsche shops.
