Full Version: I can use my original axles if I'm using a 901 on my 914/6 conversion, right?

I think I can, but wanted to check.

Thanks!

If the 901 is a -4 901. Im pretty sure the -6 trans started with 901 as well. What exactly do you have for a trans?

The flanges on -6 have spaces for 6 bolts. The -4 has space for four bolts and two roll pins.

I might be wrong but I believe /6 and /4 are interchangeable.
4 bolt and 2 roll pins.
I used my /4 axels with the /6 stubs axels.

Yes, as long as you keep it 4 lug or drill your 4 lug hubs for 5 lug.

You are correct sir. 4 and 6 cv/axles are interchangeable .
The 6 cv/axles have a different spline count that's about it.
4 bolts and 2 roll pins at both ends.

The 914-6 stub axle is the special part. It has the splines for the 911 5 bolt disk and hub and bolts up to the 914-4 cv’s. Otherwise, yea drill the hubs, which I am not a fan of.

I used 914-6 stubs and hubs that I lucked into. Stock /4 axles bolt right up.
