....So far My track car project is the cleanest 914 I have seen in 25 years..i was taking the rear trunk down to bright metal...the complete trunk to rear panel is so completely perfect...then I removed the trunk latch mounting metal.....there it was , a bushel of orange debris , and a rust pitted panel....makes me wonder what lay behind street builds that keep the latch..

I pulled up the metal on the center hump and found rust. Good news is this is the only rust on the car.
