Okay this was an idea hashed a while ago. We were talking in one thread about cradle's & idea's. I thought with the 6 mounts on the firewall. Why not do this with a subaru conversion. Where it mounts to the firewall I wanted a bushing so that the motor could pivot. Say you just want to do a little tranny work. You just unbolt your transmission & you can pivot your drivetrain down for easier access. While talking to my friend Brent about it. He was more a fab guy. So while I had a general idea in my head. Brent went ahead & built it for his car. I think at least one other person here has done one as well. What I really liked about it was this keeps your engine mount completely out of the way of your headers. When it comes to doing exhaust. Just leaves your headers back wide open. I had a Cradle already & with my turbo my header's come forward. I also already had my fuel pump & other things on the firewall. Didn't want to relocate all of it so I just went with my cradle instead. So here is what you get.
Small car motor mount (bolts to main mount to firewall)
Custom built transition Firewall mount to Small car mount
2 firewall mounts with bushings for transition from firewall to small car
Only thing needed is plates welded to your firewall. then the mounts welded to your plates.
This was built & in place for a Subaru WRX 2.0 motor. It is positioned correctly to Use Coldwater's Tranny ears for the rear. Or build your own rear mounts. I believe this will work for the suby 6 as well but you'll have to research that to be sure
