So why did my texascar need so much welding? Even in the desert these cars seem to rust.

I would think that map is 75 % true,..My car A (Washington state,Az car) rusted under the front trunk seals started to rust around the rear trunk seals,Also jack points but not really bad,.and behind the left front bumber,that was the worst,large hole there..Batt tray and suspension points all fine floor pans great aswell,..but mine is a 76' may be it got some factory treatment,but someone did do the Ziebart treatment way back.

A California car that lives at the beach will rust faster that you think.
Everything rusts here unless kept inside. My work van that's sits outside ive had for twenty years and there's rust everywhere.
