I bought a set of Pirelli Cinturato's from Coker Classics. They should be delivered today. Need to have them installed. Any suggestions on a reputable/reliable place in ATL to have that done?

Also I've owned my car for 3 years now. Have not had the car aligned during my ownership and I suspect that it had not been done in quite a few years by the original owner. Seems to drive down the road fine, as best I can tell but do you think I should have a alignment done at the same time? If so, again, any suggestions in the ATL area?

Thanks

Steve

Take a look at the wear pattern on the old tires. If there isn't an odd pattern or uneven wear and you feel like its driving well, I wouldn't worry. You will probably age out each set of tires on this car long before you wear them out.

Our cars are so light and evenly balanced, it takes a lot to wear down the tires anyway.

Check with Butler Tire.

Or align it your self. It only takes some simple math and a couple strings, and a tape. Chamber requires the same tape and a square.
The caster can be a bit harder, but a tape and a square can do it.

Like anything, you can get way better tools. But for a simple alignment on the 914 basic hand tools and a bit of math will get you locked in.

My setup is the above plus a Longrace camber and caster gauge. And a set of slip plates. I would like to upgrade to a set of hubstands, but for now, that works great for me and takes less time than driving to Cincinnati to get the only guy in this area I would trust to do a proper alignment.

Please post photos of the tires once installed. I'm still on the fence about what tires and sizing I'm leaning towards purchasing.....Pirelli, Michelin or Vredestein. popcorn[1].gif

Try Gran Turismo East in Chamblee. These guys are performance/race car specialists.
