What year 914 had the center defrost vent? And how did it work or how was is hooked up?
Thank You!!!!!

Phil it was only on early cars. The drivers side vent (I believe) had a 1" or so dia outlet stubbed off it with a small paper/foil tube that connected to that vent.
I have a pic somewhere...ah found it!

According to the 914 Restorer's Guide the center vent was deleted on the 72 and later cars.

I have a 1974 and it seems that the defrost does not defrost the windshield very well. It seems that it only defrost half the windshield and its not the half I need. I wonder if the earlier model 914 had the same problem with the center, left, and right vents.

I always had better luck with cold air out the defrost vents and hot air down below.
It seems like the hot air just fogged the windshield up more.

Not on my 73
