Which when the ignition is on reads like this

This is the top (oil temp) gauge but what colour wire is missing and do i have the live on the correct spade?

Pretty sure what's missing there is a green/black wire. That should be in your wiring harness, at least to the center console area. (Assuming you're talking about the 74 in your sig.)

Not sure about which spades the wires go on, but if you look at the back of the gauge there should be symbols. Either "+" or "30" would get the power; "G" would get the sender, and three parallel lines would get the brown wire.

Thanks Dave I'll double check the symbols on the back of the gauge.

I have no green/black wire in the dashboard. The cable is in the engine bay so it looks like I'll have to add a wire to the gauge from wherever I find that green/black wire in the centre console.
