Not sure about the "Made in USA" comment. These are close to me so LMK if you want me to take a look at them.

Michael, not sure what you’re refering to “take a look at”. More info please?

did you try the link (underlined "Fuchs")? If you can't get it to open go to Craigslist Phoenix and search on Porsche 914. There's a set of 4 for $500 OBO. Been listed for weeks. LMK

The center caps in the CL ad are all wrong. Polished AM? CORRECT wheels need a Porsche part and fox head logo on the back of the wheels. Beware of imatators.

My brother has a set for sale. I would have to get pics from him.

Its a total rip off if you ask me but they are out there

I paid half that 8 years ago for my 5
So you can see the resale value does significantly increase

$316 each? Should have proper lugs and decent caps at that price. Times have changed. Would have to be a personal pickup or old tires removed. shipping would cost a fortune. Wheels would need to be spun up and verified straight and true.

I will have a set of five available in two weeks. My refinished Pedrini's just came back from refurb yesterday.

How did you finish the Pedrines. I have some coming blasted and like to know.

Thanks,

Still looking? I have a set of 5 Fuchs with center caps. All are in good condition. I ran them on an auto x / time trial car. They are strait with no road rash. One center cap is like new one is very good and the other 4 are average. $600.00 + shipping of your chose from Reno NV.

If you look at those 5 for $1580, IMHO they need a resto anyway, so add at least $60-120 each at Al Reed or Harvey Weideman (That was Al's range on a set that I asked about a few years back).

He's selling them as if freshly restored by one of those guys.

You have to call Al Reed & Harvey Weideman directly & give them pix & possible even have to take them into to the shop to get an accurate quote.

Bob -

Both Pedrinis & Mahles were originally silver painted, & today you could add a clear coat to protect from brake dust better if it were me.

IIRC the O&H Forum's nailed topic on Wheels & Tries has some good photo examples of them in original fitment.

It means they're EMPI or another repro Fuchs - & also fits VW is another clue, since the wheel offsets are different for VW & 914. 914 offset is ET40.

The 4 petals or windmill blades are also sharper edged on the repros, as you see in the pix at that ad.

They either ordered them all polished or stripped off the black background paint.

BTW - My comments on here are only as guidance when looking for actual factory Fuchs 2L wheels. There's nothing wrong with running repros if that's what someone wants to use, just don't get suckered into real prices for a repro!

BTW Curtis - in addition to our text & telecon info this weekend, here are some reference pix....

Minilights & repros of them do look sharp on 914s & other 1960s - 70's sports cars, just not with the spinner fake knock-off center caps. I say either black or polished aluminum billet flat top caps close to the factory center caps on 914 wheels.

.

PS Curtis - I bought Andy's wheels off his prior 72 2056 build when he converted it to 5-lug, but they're polished (restored by Al Reed), so I will still need to take them back to Al to have them anodized before mounting appropriate period correct tires & mounting them on my resto (for what full bright polished looks like fyi).

.

And FYI here are some pix of what they looked like from the factory on Steve G's all original 20-something-000 original miles 73 2L (the green paint on the first pic are factory marking fyi, & it also shows the factory finish on the lug bolts & center caps), as a reference -

Lots more reference pix of original 914s & wheels/tires here - look for Dave C's red 76 for your 76 ref model -
