I found this in the Samba classified and since it was in Florida I desided to buy it.
This is what happens to a 'teener when you leave it sitting in the back yard in South Florida for a few years. The first picture was with the ad on Samba. So it has 916 bumpers and a good windshield.
28 year old German sheetmetal + semi-tropic climate=RUST

This is the second pic that was with the ad.
So it has a rear 916 bumper and a really cool l/plate, good lenses and the filler lense.

The interior shot showed a cool s/w and a console, From these items alone I figure I could get my money out of it.

So I headed out to West Palm Beach and found the car had been pulled out into the front yard. All four tires were flat. Luckly I have an electric winch on my trailer. Pulled it up and loaded the loose parts in my truck.
BTW, one of the loose pieces was the engine, a 1.7.

That was all the good stuff and I will be parting it out so hang in there.
Whata see the bad stuff? It won't take many sawzall blades to cut this up.
Let start with just behind the right front tire. That s BIG hole.

Do you think there is anything on that engine besides the heads and case worth saving?
All the FI system is shot. Is the sheetmetal worth saving?

Tranny is a tail shifter but I'll keep it.
Rear shocks are orange but don't have Koni stickers.
I'm already getting PM'd for parts.

My steering wheel is covered in duct tape.
Help a brother out.
Oops... I meant to say...
That steering wheel looks way heavy but would look good in my Buick. Yeah. That's it.

Paul,
That s/w by looking at the 6 screw holddown arrangement is either a Nardi,or a Personal wheel.
Both were in fact made by Nardi.
What that means, is that the adaptor hub behind it is a real goodie to have because,it it ultra rare.
and I think no longer made.A real good piece to have.
The one on my six took some time to find and when I did,it came to me as an old item never sold by a retailer.

I forgot a few more facts.
Good things:
The front A-arms have tabs for the sway bar mounts.
The front trunk floor looks good from the inside.
Bad things:
There was a mouse in the front trunk up by the gas tank.
The rear trunk has the carpet still in it. There was grass or something sprouting out of it.
PM me if you see anything you my want. (Sorry, the mouse ran off)
