Actually Clymer and Haynes manuals both say 50 ft/lbs for the nut on the inside ear and 108/ft lbs for the nut to the outside bracket.

Actually Clymer and Haynes manuals both say 50 ft/lbs for the nut on the inside ear and 108/ft lbs for the nut to the outside bracket.

This struck me as odd that the inner and outer nuts for the same shaft would have different torque specs, especially almost 60 ft/lbs.

So I dug out my 914 Technical Specifications book and looked up the specs.

Indeed Porsche does list different spec for inner and outer but not 58 ft/lbs different.

Porsche lists outer nut at 15.0 mkg which converts to 108 ft/lbs.
And the inner nut they list 12.0 mkg which converts to 87 ft/lbs.
