Sent Len an email notification. Looks like the casting is off on back side. When stud holes were tapped bore went through the side of casting. Casting block for stud looks off. Looks like holes could be welded up. Both heads came in that way.

Hey Mark, all T4 heads have that one rocker stud machined through. I always put a dab of rtv on the bottom threads of the stud when I screw it in, but only if the stud threads aren't tight, like some HD rocker studs can be.

If the stud is going to have to be wrenched in tight from the first thread to the last then you best put oil on it. Otherwise the stud may seize and gall and make a mess. Ask me how I know!
