PCA Cal Inland Concours Sunday 4/29/18

Feel free to post your pics here too!

For those in the SoCal & Central Cal areas, there will be a PCA Zone 8 Cal Inland Region Concours show at College of the Canyons tomorrow, Sunday 4/29/18 8 am to 2 or 3-ish, right by the westernmost entry nearest the I-5 & look for the signs.

They will do on-site registration that morning, if you want to enter your 914 or other Porsche for a judged class. They also have Display only (not judged). It's open to all PCA members to enter, & open to & encouraged for the public for viewing, & non-members are invited to Display & meet the members.

Online entry has closed, but you can enter when you get there, & car placement will start at 8 am, so be there earlier 7 or 7:30 am. You can click on the hot link for their flier at the online registration webpage link below -

Enter Wash & Shine if it's your 1st time, since it only judges interior & exterior, Street, Special Categories & Preservation add storage & engine to the judged areas, & Full Concours division adds judging the underbody (2 areas - with & without engine) for 6 judged areas, & takes the most prep.

Preservation Div. is for cars with 75% original paint & 75% original upholstery/interior - whereas, the other Divisions are not limited to nor judged for originality - it's cleaning, detailing, prep judging only. Also, if you have a newer P-car without easy engine access that you'd like to enter, there are 2 Ubergang Divisions where the engine isn't judged (comparable to Street & Full).

And before you say that you can't enter your "X" Conversion - YES YOU CAN! - Special Categories is for dedicated Race/AX, engine swaps, EVs, etc. which are heavily modified. So even you Subie, V8, EV & other non-Porsche engine types can enter Concours under Specials - as well as any Porsche transplant/conversion.

Here is a link to the Zone 8 page with all sorts of resources for how to prep, rules, the judging course (you can see exactly what & how we judge), & forms, etc. FYI -

The link below shows the entries so far, & there are no 914s yet, so since there are separate categories for 914s in every judging division - 914s entered in them will at least get an award for that Class (or one of the 914s if more show up). So let's get some 914s out there!

The weather should be nice & comfortable, so come out to visit & drool on some cool Porsches at this fun little car show - even if yours isn't running or show ready! If you don't enter in advance, then bring a picnic lunch, some folding chairs & visit with the folks there.

FYI - here are the CAI website & their Facebook page for those in their Region, in case you're interested in joining.

Note there that they are also active in AX, Racing, Tours, get togethers, etc. - plus those in the other Central & SoCal Regions & nationally - many of which are free. So the $46/yr membership for 2 is well worth joining, since the national magazine Panorama is alone worth the money. pray.gif

Sorry for the late notice, but I've been buried with work plus our house resto is in full swing now. I'll be there helping out judging, with our blue 88 VW Westy van & it's awning serving as the registration/scoring/refreshments canopy. I'll wear something 914-ish shirt/hat/hoodie - so find me & say Hi!

Cheers! beerchug.gif

Won’t be able to make this one. We will be in our way back from Hawaii.

Whoa, Santa Clarita.

A bit far for me, but thanks for the heads up.
