Engine is a stock D jet 2.0 probably with 96 mm cylinders cause of availability.

I talked to Elgin about their 330 1 cam and he said I had to send in my cam for a regrind.

So my questions are:
1) How do people feel about regrinds? If done correctly are they as good as new for longevity?

2) Anybody know how much smaller the base circle is on a regrind?

3) Anybody here running an Elgin 330 1? Is it an improvement over stock?

I have used Elgin's regrinds in the past and they worked very well.
I don't know the specific number but it was a bump over stock but was good for FI.

The stock OE cams are a "chill cast" cam and the process makes the complete cam blank hardened. Meaning if it is reground properly (which Elgin's will do) it retains the same surface hardness as original cam and does not require a surface hardening step.
It also means new OE lifters work with it. I don't recall the reduced base circle being an issue but don't remember.

There is an Elgin's cam in the 2.0L sitting in my garage and it runs pretty good, well last time it was in a car it ran pretty darn good.
