1974 Porsche 911 non-sunroof Base Coupe w/ 1983 3.0L CIS
9114101576

This is a very nice 1974 FL Titled & Registered Base Porsche 911, Vehicle Identification Number 9114101576 (Dec 1973) with 120,500 miles. Red is an excellent example of an owner-restored / maintained / upgraded, Class Condition 2-/3+ good driver that is a factory non-sunroof Base Coupe with an older repainted Guards Red exterior and factory red and black interior. Although I am the fourth owner, the first two registered owners were father and son living in Maryland, the third was/is a 356 registry member that had the car as a stopover between 356 projects. Garaged by the 2-times previous owner for 5 years prior to prior owner’s purchase in 02 /2013 and driven less than 10,000 miles during that period, it has always been VA garaged for my and the prior ownership. The previous owner took six months and nearly 500 tuning miles to return it to a driver status. Its power is from a rebuilt 1983 3.0L CIS 911 donor engine bearing Serial Number *64D0079*. The original 2.7L engine was replaced by the previous owners and that engine’s whereabouts are unknown. The $5k+ rebuilt engine (including the CIS fuel injection system) starts easily (both hot and cold), idles at 800 RPM, pulls strongly, does not smoke (unless it sits for 2 weeks and then only the typical amount on startup), and does not have any fluid leaks. The 915 transmission shifts smoothly (bushing replaced), the non-power brakes are VG+ and do not pull, and the handbrake is fully operational / adjusted.

Previous owner dealt with body rust which included the right rear window corner, rear tub seating area, and a few other surface spot locations. The closing panels and longitudinals were intact. The driver-quality underbody rust repair and/or remediation was accomplished by a local VA restoration / repair craftsman w/ over 25 year’s bodywork experience. The car is solid, the panel fit and gaps are at least very good, and the door bottoms are excellent. Make no mistake this is a good driver condition car that looks great from 3 feet, has a few surface paint bubbles, and is not worth consideration to display as a concourse show car w/o correcting those areas. It is however a fun driving car and should make a good Porsche purchase that will certainly retain its value.

Here’s some of the documented work performed / parts installed by the previous owner; Autobahn Engineering, Melbourne Fl; European Autohaus, Harrisonburg, VA; Newhaul Mobile Works, Waynesboro, VA; Stoddard; and others, and include:

Engine / CIS rebuild (Autobahn Engineering)
Transmission inspection, new shifter bushings, and fluid change (Autobahn
Engineering)
Brakes & new rubber lines
New Boge front strut inserts & rear shocks (European Autohaus)
New Windshield and OEM Mirror
New Interior RS carpet & Cream German Vinyl Headliner
2 Rebuilt Gauges (North Hollywood Speedometer)
Refurbished 6” Fuchs Wheels (Hollywood Wheels, Miami, FL)
New Yokohama All Season 205 x 60 x 15 tires
New Interstate Battery & Custom Battery Box / Battery Tie-Down
New 911 Pedal Board (Stuttgart Parts)
CIS tune and routine maintenance (Newhaul Mobile Works)

Autobahn Engineering rebuilt the 3.0L 1983 CIS engine, installed a new throw out bearing, rebuilt warm up regulator, and verified the little used clutch plate. They also installed new engine mounts, and serviced the brake system; which included flush of the Ate Master Cylinder and new rubber brake lines. I installed the new RS interior purchased from PelicanParts. Many of the body rubber seals have been replaced, or are waiting installation. The headliner has been replaced w/ correct Cream German vinyl (E&E BMW Restorations, Broadway, VA). The interior is nice / complete with all dash gauges, clock, and replacement AM / FM Blaupunkt radio working. The vehicle rolls on a set of professionally refurbished ($660) polished lip / satin black paddle Porsche OEM early 911 Fuchs 6 X 15 alloy wheels (911.361.020.10 - $1000), and 2.5 year old 205 X 65 X 15 Yokohama All Season tires. Also replaced the vehicle’s exhaust w/ a very nice used factory OEM Leistritz one-in/one-out exhaust. The engine heat exchangers were removed, cleaned, spot welded where necessary, and reinstalled. Also included is the correct Porsche steel rim space-saver tire and Bosch air pump.

As you should expect, this vehicle is a wonderful Condition 2-/3+ driver that has two key sets and a vehicle documentation package going back to the past two owners. PM me for and additional info requests.

Price: $30,000 OBO for a world member

I will post it on other sites in a week or so, if no nibbles here. Thanks for looking.
