I have no idea the percentages of this happening, but after seeing this video, I'd be very leery about purchasing (or even working under) a 2-post lift yikes.gif

The only problem with a lift is operatorheadspace. If you use the safeties you should not have an issue. Not using the safeties makes you a Darwin Award candiate. Most of the people injured by lifts are professionals.
Your a safety nut, your not going to have a problem.

It's the number of brain cells involved; not the number of post's used! beerchug.gif

RULE #1

Every time you remove parts / components it changes the balance point. DAH.

I check the balance every time I lift. Lift about 2 feet and shake with front bumper. You can feel it if it isn't right. On a 911 I attach the front on the car to the front arms prior to
tearing a car down and prepping for stripping.

Krieger (Andy) has one and loves it. I'm leaning towards one of these myself.

I feel safer with the 4-post lift for undercarriage inspections and maintenance, and a mid-rise lift for doing wheel/brake/suspension tasks shades.gif

I like this one, Mike (mgfoto) has one and loves it. I already have a four post and two post but lately I've been using them more for short-term storage.

This one is portable and handy.

They offer different model#'s though...Anybody know what model works best for our 914's?

Mark...that video is scary..yikes.

Here is a photo with the 914. I like that it leaves the front and rear open as the middle doesn't really have anything you need to access. There is a size guide at the bottom of the photo.

I have a four post with two rolling Jack's. I can easily have all 4 wheels off the ground. A bit less convenient than a 2 post but safer imho.

That's similar to the Bend Pak mid-rise I have, but that one looks like it may be a little lighter in weight. Mine is sort of a bear to move around ... but I got it for a mere $500., so I'm not complaining biggrin.gif
