Going thru the engine on my 1970 914 1.7 and wanted to test the MPS while I had it off. Attached a HF vacuum pump, pumped to 15 inHG and over the next 12-15 minutes it leaked down to a little over 10 inHG. Tested the vacuum pump on its own by plugging the hose and it will hold 15 inHG indefinitely. My question, is there any acceptable amount of leakage for the MPS or should it also hold the vacuum indefinitely? Also, is leakage at this rate enough to cause issues down the road? Thanks in advance for your input.
