We’re almost finished dialing in our newly restored 73 Delphi 2.0.
The bodyshop is super proud of the gaps on the drivers side headlght
What do you think?

I've seen some very expensive 914s that didn't have gaps that nice. Great job!

Very nice. I would try to get the eye brow, where it meets the hood corner to come back a teeny tiny bit and call it done. But I am really splitting hairs (red ones) here.

pretty perfect for a 914! If the corner of the hood is down a bit as compared to the fender, you could unscrew the rubber bump stop a bit but I would NEVER complain about those gaps. What a GREAT color

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I do think the brow can move a bit to close the gap. Will post another picture tonight.

.... Jett, that may be a tweak you can have them do if not level, & make sure that they match left to right too. I can't really tell if it's low from the top.
The 914 headlights is one of the areas which they always mention in our Zone 8 Judges Schools & Concours Prep Schools, & in our Concours Prep documents as a "defect" to look for & fix, so the "Taildraggers" always have their sights set for us 914ers on that!
From the top it looks perfect!

Technically......the back end of the headlight is low as is the hood....totally adjustable at this point....so keep going....from 92% to 98%.....it is fun to dial it in....

Looks great, normally one would have to buy a $300,000 Singer 911 to have perfect body to panel gaps

Thanks everyone! After the final alignment we’ll create a thread for the build. The car was buried in two feet of mud for 27 years. It was a labor of love by many people:)

The only thing I don't like about working on my car is you know where the skeletons are. No one else would have noticed this. Good work.

lol understood. We have been working to remove every known skeleton but I suspect the body person and mechanics are getting tired of me. ...actually the mechanic is more detail oriented than most and fun to watch them triage, study, and fix.
