I am refurbing my 1972 gauges and associated dash gauge plate to remove some rust and other crud. I removed the gauge bezels and gauge holder plate and stripped / sanded them. Can anyone recommend what black paint I should use to repaint them? Semi-gloss or Gloss?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Black semi gloss trim paint or powdercoat.

Rustoleum black satin is a pretty good match. But paint can chip a bit as you re-crimp the edges down. Powdercoat holds up better but is thicker, so the rings may not seat like they originally did. Pick your poison. I've done both and would go with powdercoat again next time. Eastwood semi-gloss black is the closest I've found. Their satin is too matte...

Def do Tim's LED upgrade while you're at it:

I bet that’s why Timmothy powdercoats his gauges. Durability surfing assembly. They look great to me.
