Longs are in great shape. Hell hole and battery box were repaired/replaced by Milt Becker (Zeke) several years ago
Fiberglass rocker panels.
No rust in either trunk, but front trunk floor was cut out for an AC condenser (AC condenser included). There is a carbon-kevlar plate screwed in to cover the opening at present
Tan leather seats upgraded with 914 Rubber seat adjuster handles, center console with gauges (clock doesn't work), leather shifter boot and a tan dash cover
Center armrest with custom-made cup holder, and fairly new Appbiz tan carpet (, front trunk bulkhead and floor panel pieces, rear trunk carpet and targa-top headliner)
Tan door panels with old speakers (shown in pix) were replaced with nice uncut black door panels

THE 'BAD', if you want to call it that ...

I installed a Wilwood hydraulic clutch system because there is a problem with the clutch cable tube, but haven't had the opportunity to try it out with all the other priorities on my plate.

The car has not been started since mid-2016, so the fuel tank will need drained and the carbs will probably need a good cleaning. A set of rebuild kits are included.

Will probably also need a new battery.

I'm prepping for a remodel on a couple more rooms at the CA house to start on Thursday. My wife & I spent all day cleaning everything out the rooms (glad I brought my trailer back with me). I need to do the electrical upgrades before the contractor to steps in to do the carpentry, insulation and drywall work, so I'll be kind of busy again tomorrow

I'll try to run down to the Interstate dealer and get a new battery for the 'BB', put some fresh fuel in the tank and start her up sometime this weekend ... maybe shoot some video?

If I have to do a lot of work on her, the price will have to go up

I'll take the car as is...all you have to do is say ok

While looking for an errant piece of the carpet kit (the driver's side kick panel), I found some more carpet pieces to go with the car. In addition to the front trunk tan carpet kit, I totally forgot that I had also purchased a tan rear trunk carpet and matching tan headliner for the targa top

Also, including the flexible sheath and pulley assembly for the original clutch cable in case Bill wants to convert back from the hydraulic system

I'm going to try out the hydraulic system. This car has some great upgrades from stock and is an excellent platform to try new technologies on. I may have to experiment with A/C as well!

Well then, I'll toss box with the condenser/fan unit in the trunk ... it's the only component I still have from the old A/C system.

We still have the '71, and although it won't be as much of a hot rod as the 'BB', it'll be another great car when it's all back together.

Well, we've got an empty nest here now. Danny from the transport carrier came by a half-hour ago and the 'BB' is on the way to SC as we speak

A bittersweet moment for sure, watching it being driven away


But on the bright side, now I can go pick up 'Eileen' (Westfalia) with her new 2.1L Wasserboxer motor ... I'll temporarily park her up on the lift and have AAA transport my wife's '99 Beetle here (park it on the lower rung), so's I can work on the overheating issue before taking it to AZ to live out the rest of it's life.

Now I have a car to take to Okteenerfest!
