That will bring at least 30k. Those Syncro's have a crazy following. That is a well sorted ride. I'd drive it

SWEET! I wish. Gonna keep an eye on that. If I wasn't getting screwed by nature and house sales, I would maybe have enough to dream about that one. Should go for a big number.

Whoa! $30k with an old conversion and 250k miles? Yikes.

Oh well, I was half-assed-seriously thinking about it, but I guess I'll just watch from a distance.

And the 3.3 doesn't have chain driven camshafts.... a belt will do just fine. Unless they make a kit for it which I've never seen. popcorn[1].gif

$30k is a conservative estimate. They made less than 1600 Syncro Westys and the Subi conversions ad value. I've got one with this engine and it's a great vehicle, on and off the road.

I'm waiting till someone adapts a Boxster engine to the Vanagon.
I'd love to do it....even had the right Boxster....too many other projects....and regular life too.
I'm sure the SVX is plenty of fun but I understand they're very thirsty

I like that it is offered in California, but has a clean Florida title. Probably a little smog problem.. biggrin.gif

If you read the comments section at the bottom someone addresses the chain v belt mistake and the last sentence on the description states that in 2016 CA labeled it a gross polluter. Not gonna be sold to another Californian, probably. Can only be reg in a non smog state. Comments address this, too, in that the time and effort to make this would only have been a little more to get the smog gear right. In CA you can only use a newer motor in an older chassis, and the smog system has to be correct to the engine and work to the parameters as designed. Then you have to have a referee station certify you. My 74 bus with 1969 corvair 6 in it would never be legal in CA, but I live in OH wink.gif

I hadn't read through the comments and didn't see the timing chain/belt comment but leaving the emissions equipment on isn't really that hard, especially if you want to increase the registration ability of a vehicle. In most cases it doesn't really affect the performance issue of it either. EGR valve doesn't and you can get high flow cats if necessary... a little ingenuity goes a long way. I've found room for all of the emissions parts on my SVX/914 conversion because I didn't want to mess with what the computer sees - the less issue it has, the more simple changes I can make to awaken the horsepower of a well designed engine. 300 hp is ridiculously simple to pull from that motor.
