Alex,
I would suggest that you find a jack from a 1980s vintage Nissan. The scissors jack that comes in the Nissan is far better than the factory 914 jack. Plus it is readily available and far cheaper than the 914 jack.

From experience.... I had the screw on a factory jack break above the shuttle with the car halfway up. I was trying to remove the flat tire at the time. I had to borrow a floor jack from the gas station attendant to finish changing the tire.

Now if you want the original jack for show, then go for it. I keep an original jack in the 914-6, but I won't use it.

Good luck.

I had the jack, screwdriver and bag but needed everything else. I used this website http://www.p914.com/p914_tools_kit.htm to determine exactly what I needed and watched for good deals on EBay. The Tommy bar, lug socket, and spark plug socket are all VW and I found those cheaper when I searched for the vw versions. I think the jack is vw as well. The bag, white screwdriver, wrench and tow hook will be the tougher ones to find a good deal on. Of course you started in a great place to find them as well.
