Almost done plumbing the oil cooler...Aeroquip socketless hose and fittings in AN-12. How tight do I tighten the fittings?...TFAR?...what?

tight enough to keep the B-nut from coming off. AN fittings do NOT seal by tightness. snug it up, and you're done. pressure-test; in the unlikely event it leaks, try A LITTLE more torque but no more. Earl's makes 'conical seals' for repairing the sealing surface of a 37-degree AN flare after it's been damaged by overtightening or other operator-induced failure...
