On my 73 914 passenger side head lamp door opens fine but will not close,have to do it manually, have replaced relay no help, drivers side works as it should. Any ideas?

Paul, when it does that, does it help to tap the headlamp motor with a blunt object?

Motor might have a dead spot.. much like a starter.

also, make sure the contacts on the relay socket are clean and not corroded ...

i once had a solder come lose on the motor itself and it would only sporadically make contact.
might be worth checking those as well ...
