Anyone use these? How was the fit and quality? I need to get a pair of rockers for some restoration work being done on the 914, and am ? steel or FG. Any thoughts on which to use and why?

Help from those who BTDT with the outer rockers.

Do you have a part number? Or picture? I think you are referring to my product that I make. They work well. They are copies of the fiberglass units. If you search here under rocker flares you will find a bunch of threads.

I have a set and they are sitting on the shelf ready to get primed and painted. I did not do a practice fit/alignment check but they are heavier than my original ones I can tell you that. Edges need to be filed down but look good

Are you looking at just straight panels or do you have flares?

I just got a pair of straight ones from restoration design. They had all of the little details on them, but required a LOT of massaging to make them fit onto the car properly. They only drilled the three bottom screw holes. I can see why, though. Even just these three holes were difficult to get lined up. The rest of the holes on the top we had to drill.

I am not sure if you will have a different experience with AA panels, but if you get the RD ones, plan on a few hours (I think we put 6 or 7 total in) of time to get them to fit just right.

Good to know, I will have to take a look tonight when I get home, but sounds like the same issue, edges a a little rough but the panels are straight-

Not painted so most likely made by Restoration Design.

we make them. WE had noticed variations in the 914 rocker panel rivet holes so made them without the rivet holes drilled, we are going to re examine and again begin to drill the rivet holes as per the factory originals we have for reference. Some cars may not align properly but for most they will be more user friendly. We make approx 100 different metal parts for the 914 now
