Just wanted to thank everyone on this board! I just sold my 914, it was a great car that I had for 4 years. I was offered a slamming deal on an 83 sc coupe and had to take it, but couldn't keep both cars.

The help everyone has provided me over the past 3 years or so has been huge! and I plan on staying with the club...maybe even find a new 914 project in a year or 2...

Thanks again !

Adam: did you sell to somebody local? I know my friend Scott called you about the car? Make sure you tell the new owner about the 914club. beerchug.gif

I didn't buy the car...the new owner was directed to me by another board member....I helped him sort through a bunch of ads and scores of pictures...told him what questions to ask....he had never driven a 914 so I had him drive my '76 so he knew what to expect...I haven't seen the car yet but we talked the other night and he seems happy with it...maybe he'll chime in and introduce himself....

Thanks for the support!

Yeah, I'm happy about it all though, the car went to a nice guy, I picked up the 911 this past weekend and love it, totally different car, but I'm looking forward to a new project. I'll post some photos when I get a chance, it's petrol blue, with tan, immaculate on the outside, interior is very good, seats need some work, but dash, carpets, are perfect, all guages work, excellent leak down results and it drives great. Feels like it weights about twice what the 914 did, but i'm sure I'll get used to it. buying oil by the case is a new adventure though!

William,

I did meet your friend Scott, I hope he finds a good car. How's your project coming along??

burnout.gif Adam: progress continues to be made. Tonight back on jack stands to reinstall the master cylinder and Eric Shea's beautiful pedal assembly. Then the recovered dash and new dash pad go in, then instruments and switches, and move into the interior - new carpet set, etc. etc. More pictures to my restoration thread coming this weekend. By the way, I have owned 3 911s, 84 cab, 95 993 and 96 C4S. Be careful until you get the feel for the car, never never never lift in a corner, you must learn to accelerate thru the corners. burnout.gif

William,

your right about that, I think it's going to take me a while to learn how to drive it, luckily I'm old enough to know not to push it too far, but especially on a wet road you need to be mindfull...

-by the way, any tire recommendations?? I'ts got the 205 and 225's, I'll keep it stock, I'm thinking either yoko avs sports, or dunlop sp9000?? any preferences from your experiences??

Either are fine. I usually ran Pirellis. Make sure they are specified by Porsche and you will be fine. Except for the mileage and wear biggrin.gif
