No cars on Mackinac Island, only horse carriages, bikes and foot power.
You get there on a ferry boat only.

It really happened a few years ago during high winds when a YUGO plunged over the guard rails into Lake below.

Few years ago=late 1980’s.
There is still some debate that going over the rail of the bridge was caused by the wind. IIRC there was quite a bit of speculation that she had been drinking beforehand and may have just lost control of her vehicle.
The other one the guy left behind a suicide note (I think) before purposely driving off the bridge.
I’ll be there!
I would have loved to go, but family issues and my 914-4 is down. I will be there next year with bells on!

Who is me 
I didn't make it to the Mac Bridge gathering, my buddy Mike in his 911 sent me this 914 photo & said there were (5) 914's & maybe a few more.
Tom 30-minutes from the bridge working on my new house & the 914 downstate waiting to get it to Mark in GR for a tuneup.
