The white one I got a few weeks ago needs some rust repair, and a little of everything else. I hate rust. You'll probably see it for sale on here soon.

Meanwhile, I got another one; a much better one that has most of the little stuff I would do already completed, and NO rust. You may have seen it on BaT. Can't wait to drive it.

There's no such thing as a 914 with NO rust. You'll find it soon enough ...

My 1971, my first 914, 1.7 liters was Signal Orange. Probably 1975.
Man I LOVE that color!

What is it that makes us want to have the same colors we had back in the day? (Or maybe it's just me!!)

Not just you. A lot of us like what influenced us when we were growing up.

My first car was a '62 Karmann Ghia, which I painted bright sky blue. The orange really appeals to me though. The 914 is what my Ghia wanted to be when it dreamed.

Great looking car. Love the color.

I can see it has rear sway bar; does it have front sway bar too?

Thanks all. Were rear discs stock on a '72? I see rear disc brakes.

My dad had Metallic Blue cars when I was little and even into High School with more Medium Blue cars. I love them and that is my favorite color. I am a sucker for Blue.

Hehehe. I was able to owned 71, 72, 73, 74 and 75 all with disc brakes.
Currently zero 914 for me. huhuhu

I'd be very surprised if your car DIDN'T have a front anti-sway bar because I can see it has one in the rear. I've heard of cars having a front bar only (and based on my reading on 914World the front bar is more effective than a rear bar; please correct me if I'm wrong) but I've never heard of a 914 that had a rear bar with no front bar.
dabird
My 74 2.0 was originally signal orange, but was painted red at some point. Every time I see an orange one a small tear rolls down my cheek.
ValcoOscar
Love signal orange....73 2.0L
Here's one of my projects.

BTW, I read the writeup on BAT. I bought a car with a nonfunctioning turn signal shut-off. Turns out it was "re"installed upside-down. When Brad Mayeur installed it properly it would not shut off with turning the wheel. He futzed with it a little bit and I noted that it would not work if the screws were overtightened. Loosened it a bit and it was perfect.

ooh those are good tips. I will look into it. If that is near the top of the list I got a great car. biggrin.gif beerchug.gif
