I would like to put an Oil cooler in the front Valance like on a 911 Has any body have done this mod to there 914 to show me some Ideas how to do this .. Thanks

The front cooler won't fit in the valance like a 911 RSR valance/dam.
The 914 has more of a curve plus no room under the valance for a cooler. The 911 has more of a boat like front end and the RSR cooler doesn't stick out past the bumper, the 914 has an almost horizontal front bumper and valance. so the RSR cooler would stick out way past the bumper.

I imagine you could hack in a cooler RSR-ish but it would stick out too far, be a curb hazzard and look like crap.

Believe me I've looked at it every way, the 914 GT front cooler is the only solution in the front end. Do a search "914 GT front cooler".

Some have come up with other solutions, such as a ducted cooler above the tranny, or a front fender cooler as found in some 911's.

I am working on kits though very slowly.

There are some funky RSR-style front spoilers out there for 914s for front mounted oil coolers. Look a little risky.

911s have been doing this forever, mounting the cooler in/under the bumper without having to cut the body of the car.

I've seen several 914s with a similar setup, there even was a GT that run a cooler mounted under the stock front bumper.

I have a pic somewhere of that setup ...

Front oil cooler pulls air from under the front valance and exits through existing holes on bottom of front trunk. Requires only a small cut under car.

You can’t see it very well from the photos, but the fan is controlled from a thermostat with a temperature probe placed in the cooler fins ( grey wire) The switch is just a manual override if needed. The fan very seldom even turns on except in traffic.

You can put a radiator in each front wheel well. For my race car, I removed the turn signal assembly to provide more airflow for racing in the Texas summer, but I suspect a street car could get by without the additional airflow.
