Does anyone know if there are individual vents (universal or not) that could be used to replace broken ones from a DPD (Dealer Products Division I think) under dash A/C unit?

I never had to replace one. I have a few spares. How many do you have broken?

Doug,

Probably your best bet would be to find a used unit for the parts, since the originals are long NLA. AA had an updated version of the DPD, but I don't know if they can source parts for them, nor if the vents were the same size.

The way to tell between DPD or VPC is that the knobs on the DPD will center under the air vent sliders panel on the dash face & the left vent is over more towards the driver, & the Evaporator Shroud on the DPD is conical with a flat top which the spare can fit over & down into/around it, & the spare sits lower than the VPD evap - which is a flat top rectangular shape. Otherwise, look for tags & labels on them.

PS - Check the make for Clay's generous offer, cuz the DPD & VPC vents may be slightly different in size, shape &/or attachment.

I can’t be sure if you’ll find a match, but RV parts places online can have a pretty wide selection of vents, since manufacturers and upfitters use off-the-shelf parts.

The DPD unit has a big round DPD badge on the front. biggrin.gif

The evaporator is centered under the dash for the DPD unit. The VPC unit it is on the right side of the car.

and the DPD vents plugged in from the back, VPC were framed and plugged in from the front. The DPD vents are hard to replace, and then the blower housing tabs break off as well. So rare are they that we usually sell the used vents for 75 each, would be nice if someone found a vent that would work on these

I use a pair of needle nose pliers to slide the DPD vents into the hole at an angle, then turn them straight and pull them into place. I had a local place rechrome the plastic vents so they look nice. No broken tabs for them..yet.
