I FINALLY completed my side shift conversion on my 72. I need to adjust the shifter now. I've read a ton of threads on both shifter adjustment and transmission conversions. My question is how do I adjust the shifter, starting from ground zero? Is it the same as adjusting a shifter normally?

Do I do the bungee cord adjustment or???? I've owned the car for about 5 years and drove it, minus first gear for a time. Can't wait to drive it with first gear! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

TIA, BUB

Bungee is where I start. Gets me real close.
Make sure the shift is straight up for starters.
Have fun.

I assume you mean at the trans?

No, in the drivers seat. That sets the front to back on the shift rod.
