In my search for aircraft stripper, it seems as though one of the components common to aircraft stripper is phenol. And so I located a local product containing phenol and it works a treat.

While well intentioned as a tip, I found this to be unworkable. Handling saran wrap while wearing chemical gloves was....comical at best (at least on wheels). Might work easier on flat panels....

Paint the stuff on, take off your gloves, carefully apply Saran wrap, drink a beer.

On a serious note...if you use a strong stripper on a metal panel, what product should be used to ensure you get all the stripper off of it before primer and paint?

Ok, yes, on a serious note, years ago I used PeelAway on my catamaran to remove multiple layers of bottom paint. I believe I left it on for a couple days; the stripper stayed pliable and took most of the paint off in combination with a scraper while peeling it away from the surface. As a side bonus, there's not much smell with it.
