I have all of my vacuum hoses connected (new) and I have a hole open on the throttle body. Any should this hole be left open?

For reference, I have added Mr. Bowlsby's nifty diagram. Also, please note that the picture of the throttle manifold (body?) is from ebay, could not get a good shot of mine.

Thank you all 914-ers!

It is a welded in metal support tube that goes all the way through the plenum.
It does not open into the plenum, just goes through to the bottom.
There is another one on the other side of throttle plate flange.

The plenum often cracks around these tubes and creates vacuum leaks.

What he said. And, never leave a vacuum port uncapped, unless you like your idle at 2000rpm
