1. The go to mode has been 1.7 rockers and 911 swivel feet. They aren't making any more 1.7 rockers. What are the alternatives?

2. Sroker rod journal sizes, rod bearings, and rod bolt sizes. When I built myy 2270, I used vw journals and a 5.4 rod. That was the best combo for H-beam rods at that time.

What is the preferred combo for 80mm stoke today. I'm thinking that Buick journal with 5/16th bolt will give the best clearance, followed by Porsche journal.

I used a 163/8bb when I built my motor. Somewhere I read that it could make power to 7k. Am I mistaken? I currently have it pilled to 6500.

I ran the 10mm swivel adjusters. Bought them from the source in Germany and you can too or there is a guy on the Samba that sells them (same cost) They are originally for a bus motor (same thing right). Anyway I had my stock 2.0 ones clearanced the same way you would have the 1.7s done. They look good and worked well in my 2056. I think I have pics in my build thread:
