Man what IS it about Audis? They are such fine cars, but I see more fairly new Audis broken down on the side of the road than any other car! A few years ago a friend finally got out of his POS Escort and bought his firts brand new car..a loaded A6.
He had so many problems:
AC quit--big deal on NC in the summer
Clutch or tranny freaked out betwen home and Atlanta, couldn't go past 2nd gear
electric oustdie mirrors went haywire
all of this and more in the first 6 months of ownership.
Don't get me wrong, I LIKE Audis, and the TT is cool. I would drive an Audi if I thought I could afford it. I think Audi makes the best wagon on the road. But when I commented to my mechanic (who drives an A8 that he got at auction for $7,000) that Asian cars don't act like that, his response was "why do you think I don't work on Asian cars? They don't break, no money in it".
I don't understand why, in 2005, a new car (especially one that costs like an audi) can be such a heartbreaker.
The upside with this TT is, it coulda been driven by a granny with a fulltime clutch foot who jut wore the cluth out prematurely.
Oh and Kudos to the CHP for pushing her off by hand and tearing up that sweet car with his buddy bumpers.
