Am considering getting a power bleeder and had decided on the Motive #0109 when I came across the Schwaben model with pump, not the compact model.

The Schwaben is bigger at 3l but not sure that is a bonus.

Price is about the same.


Which do you use or recommend and any negatives to either?

I've been very happy with speed bleeders ....I flush the fluid on my track car every six months...so plenty of experience.

I've got the Motive unit and have been very happy with it.

I have used the motive unit for more than 10 years. It works.

pretty easy to buy off amazon.

I bought the 0100 model, and it did a great job. Perfect if you don't have a helper to pump the brakes!

Yes, these work great. And your family members will appreciate not having to be called into the garage for what most of them consider a tedious task.

I need to buy one of these.. Are all 0100 models the same? I see wide range of prices..

Different adapters for different master cylinders. You can also get the pro adapters made from AL. You can buy the fittings separate also, and adapt stock caps if you have an odd one or two.

They all seem to be the same.

I happened to buy one today from Pelican ( I had a 10% off coupon). I bought the Black Label model.

Speed bleeders are nice, but I couldn't find them for my Alfa/Brembos. bleeders are big, maybe 10mm. So I only have them on my rears.

Pelican has a lot of good stuff but I’m spoiled by Amazon prime.

I know a lot of people love Amazon, but not me. I avoid them at all costs.

You guys talked me into buying one.. Should be here in a week.

You’ll love it. The lines between the reservoir and MC aren’t designed for pressure so go easy. I use about 5psi to bleed the system.

The first time I used one I was told 40. Then I learned that was way too much.

Don't want to be blowing brake fluid all over everything.

I use about 15 PSI.

I have also found that using both a pressure bleeder and speed bleeders does not work well. In my experience its one or the other. The pressure bleeder does not make enough pressure to force fluid past the ball valve in the speed bleeder.

I use 15 psi. A few pumps on the pedal (even when under pressure) can help to move bubbles down the line or out of 'sticky spots.' It is still a one-man operation.

Don't let the reservoir run dry..
