Isn't the headlight switch, the first notch, the parking lights, and then pull out all the way, and headlights pop up?

I'm wondering if a switch that I got, was the wrong one, and go put in??
Especially if it was sent directly to the mechanic, and I didn't see it.
I don't recall a switch like that. It only pulls out the first step.

The pictograph on that switch is not one I’ve seen on any 914.
My guess is wrong switch especially since you only have one detent.
Spoke’s answer is spot on (pun intended):-) in your other thread.

On my car, first notch raises the headlights but just the parking lights are on. 2nd notch the headlights come on.

1st notch = parking lamps; 2nd notch = headamps; going back to 1st notch from 2nd notch = parking lamps on with headlamps up but not lit.
