What is the story behind the 2 tone bumpers on racing 914’s? I searched a bit and found nothing- was it team specific? Random? To differentiate 2 cars in the same colour from the same team?

Full Version: 2 tone Racing bumper paint
I believe it started with this team of cars. Bumpers were the only thing different about them. Pit crews and time/scoring could tell them apart from the front without seeing the numbers

That makes sense - the yellow car in my first post kinda reminds me of the partridge family bus

Some did, some didn’t. But I imagine it’s more important to know who is coming in.
