Question:

If I only drive my 914 in the summer at shows and the track, do I really need my thermostat bellows?

Running headers, no heat, working on a oil cooler....

Maybe not, and I know they are hard to find. Might be easier on the motor during start up. Also, you want the flaps and you need them to be open when the engine is hot. The flaps as I recall direct air flow to the oil cooler.

Awesome PowderCoating has T-stats.
Yes, you have to keep the flaps.

You want the engine up to running temp ASAP, especially important for cool northern mornings, less wear, better mileage, etc.
Would you run no t-stat on a water cooled car? It's there for the same reasons.

BTW VW T-stats only fail in the open position.

Could these flaps be modified to pump air in constantly using the blower motor? In the future, I plan to rebuild and modify my 2.4 cis aktion035.gif

Not sure what you're asking, an electric fan pushes nothing compared to the cooling fan and the cooling fan pressure would likely push past an 12v fan.

Thank so for the info
