What is the factory setup for the vent tubes coming off the cylinder head????
Dave_Darling
They connect to the "flashback valve" (which is just a fancy T with a screen in it) and then connected to the air filter housing, or to the intake boot between the air filter and the throttle body.

I forget where it hooks in to the L-jet cars, though.

70-74 1.7 and 2.0 cars only, left front and right rear head, goes into the collector anti backfire as Dave said at the left thermostat rod, then into the air cleaner

L-Jet cars don't have vent tubes in the heads.

Some have them, some don't, they don't really do much and I often plug them.

I have a California 76, if that changes anything.
